London Fog (My Low-Cost, Low-Fat Version)

London Fog (My Low-Cost, Low-Fat Version) created by Just_Ducky

The London Fog is a popular cafe tea made with Earl Grey Tea, steamed & frothed milk and vanilla syrup. I have neither the time nor the money to get all fancy but I love the taste, so I came up with this and a friend requested I post it. I steep my tea by the pot (in my coffee maker), but I'll break it down to one cup. Feel free to post comments. I have switched this recipe to skim milk but I have made it with skim milk powder. Most people don't care for powder but I live in the middle of nowhere and sometimes I run out of fresh and that's where the original recipe was created one day when I really needed a nice comfort bevvie on a cold winter day and if I add just enough vanilla & honey it helps to cut the taste of the powder :-) Blessings ♥

I'm sipping this as I type, and it is delicious! I used my Magic Bullet to froth the milk and omitted the sugar. The vanilla really adds a lot. This takes earl grey up another notch! Thanks so much for posting Just Ducky-<br/>Roxygirl

A very nice, heart-warming beverage. Quite easily made! I wasn't so wild about the flavor of the powdered milk and if I make this again will use heated regular milk instead.

London Fog is not just Earl Grey with milk. The milk should be steamed and frothed. The froth is optional, but steaming makes a huge difference in the taste.

Love this as a nice treat in the morning. I've also made it with Rooiboos tea when I ran out of Earl Grey.
