Limeade Icy Smoothie

When you think you can't drink another glass of water, this is a great way to get your fluids, without all the high-fructose corn syrup that's in so many supermarket drinks. The ginger makes this treat a fine stomach soother for days when you're queasy too.

ingredients
- 1⁄2 cup fresh lime juice (about 4-6 limes)
- 1⁄2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 10 ice cubes
directions
- Juice the limes and strain out any seeds; pour the juice into the blender. Using the side of spoon, scrape away the skin from the ginger. Grate with a zester or the smallest holes of a box grater; add to blender. Add the honey and ice. Blend on high speed to mix. Taste and adjust the sweetness with an additional tablespoons of honey if you fruit is very tart. Garnish with fresh mint.
- Makes 2 smoothies.

VARIATIONS:
- In place of the lime juice, substitute Meyer lemon juice, Key lime juice, or grapefruit juice. You can also try adding a splash of ginger ale or sparkling water for a little fizz.
