ingredients
- 4 cups sliced mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 medium garlic clove, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups skim milk
- 1⁄4 cup parsley, chopped
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1⁄4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
directions
- Melt butter in a large skillet. Saute garlic.
- Add sliced mushrooms and saute over medium high heat until mushrooms are brown and liquid is mostly evaporated. May require additional butter.
- Stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add milk, parsley, salt and pepper.
- Stir and cook for about 5 minutes or until it begins to thicken.
- Add lemon juice and stir.
- Add butter as needed. flour and butter will cause the sauce to thicken.
