Honey Limeade

"This is one of the drinks served at a recent baby shower for me. Absolutely delcious, and so refreshing!!! Notes: If you use a light-colored honey, such as star thistle, the limeade will be prettier. Cooking time is chill time."

  • In a pitcher (at least 2-qt. capacity), stir lime juice and 1/4 cup honey until blended. Taste; if mixture is too tart, add up to 1/4 cup more honey. Add 5 cups water. Chill until cold, at least 1 hour, or up to 1 day.
  • Just before serving, add ice cubes. Thinly slice lime crosswise (discard ends), cut slices in half, and add to pitcher.

  1. This was pretty good. I ended up adding about 1/6 cup sugar before serving after a taste test seemed too tart.
     
  2. I didn't have enough limes so I used half lemon and half lime juice (fresh squeezed). I also used the 1/2 cup of honey. Absolutely delicious!
     
  3. Coooool! Great on a hot afternoon. What makes this so great is it’s not to sweet or to tart so it quenches your thrust perfectly. Way better then lemonade. 8+)

  1. This is very delicious :) Reminded me of a Margarita. So much so, I dug out my crystal Maragarita glasses. I wiped the rim with lime, and rimmed with sugar instead of salt. It was perfect. I did add a little more than 1/4 cup of honey, but not the full 1/2 cup. This is going to go down so well on a hot afternoon, expecially after I've been working in the garden. Of course it's going down good right now too! Thanks Kittycatmom for another wonderful recipe. Made for Spring PAC 2009.
