Homemade Chocolate Syrup

"More rich chocolate flavor, less of the too-sweet, syrupy flavor to make delicious, healthier chocolate milk! We use this to flavor our raw cow’s milk, which is sometimes a bit strong tasting. Please note:  I use raw cacao powder for this recipe, but it isn’t recognized as an ingredient so I changed it to cocoa for publishing purposes. "

directions

  • Combine ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a boil while stirring constantly.
  • Once the syrup is combined and all the sugar and cacao are no longer grainy and visible, remove from heat.
  • Store in a glass container in the refrigerator.
  • Stir 2 T syrup into 8 oz of milk and enjoy!
  • *I have also been able to make this in a high powered blender, so that I don’t have the heat the raw cacao powder as much.
