  • 12 ounces Crispix cereal
  • 6 ounces original goldfish crackers
  • 6 ounces pretzels
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 12 cups light brown sugar
  • 14 cup white Karo syrup

directions

  • Place first three ingredients in a large brown paper bag. Shake to mix.
  • In a pot, boil butter, sugar, and syrup for 3 minutes.
  • Pour boiling mixture over cereal mixture in bag. Shake gently.
  • Microwave bag for 1 - 1 1/2 minutes. Remove bag and shake.
  • Repeat step #4 three more times.
  • Spread mixture onto 2 large cookie sheets to cool.

  1. I always have tons of cereal to use up, so this was a nice way to do something a little different with it! Super sweet and very good. I used the Crispix as written, and saltine goldfish. Since I started using reusable shopping bags I no longer have large brown ones around, so I used the biggest Pyrex bowl I have which just barely fits in my microwave - and which just barely contained the huge amount of mix this makes! I have a 5 qt. ice cream bucket FULL to the brim of this yummy stuff. My kids were ecstatic about their special after lunch treat today, thanks! Made for PAC Spring '11.
