Favorite Stroganoff

"This recipe came from my mom, and has been modified a bit by me. You could also substitute hamburger for the sirloin if you wanted. Stroganoff is just one of those comfort foods you can't get enough of."

  • Slice the sirloin into 1/4 inch by 2 inch slices, set aside.
  • Sauté onion and mushrooms in olive oil until softened.
  • Add the sirloin, cover and simmer on medium low for 30 minutes.
  • Drain 1/2 of the juice from the pan.
  • Add the sherry, cream of mushroom soup, paprika, dry mustard, salt and pepper.
  • Cover and simmer on low for 10 minutes.
  • Add the sour cream to the mixture and heat through.
  • Serve over egg noodles or rice.
