Wow. This was amazing - Thank you! I used the dripping for gravy and had mashed potatoes with this. I am not a bacon lover and this was the perfect recipe for me! Everything I love about bacon without the overly salty and overwhelming "bacon" flavor. I could even cut down on the amount of seasoned salt. It was like "fine" bacon... I will be making this again!

Thank so much for the GREAT recipe. We have been eating side pork for many years and this is the first time we really enjoyed it. It wasn't greasy and tasted so yummy. I didn't use the season salt cause both my husband and I have heart conditions so no salt. But I did add ground rosemary, the granulated garlic and fresh ground black pepper to the flour. Wow! We will never go back to plain old side pork.

Can't believe there aren't any other reviews for this great 'Easy Side Pork'!!! We'd never cooked side pork before and were more than pleasantly surprised. As mentioned elsewhere, you'll never look at bacon the same way again. I could see adding black pepper or some other spices. Great (and easy) recipe!

Best side pork ever! I did revise the recipe a little. Added baking soda to flour to help tenderize side pork. I used granular garlic powder and Montreal steak seasoning low sodium for seasoning. Baked it for 20 minutes turned it over and baked approx 30 min more. It was crispy and delicious. I did drain oil twice during the process. It was a huge hit! Crispy and flavorful. I used a Silicone mat for easy.

The first time I tried it, it was out of this world delicious. I said I'd never fix fresh side any other way. The second time, it was horrible. Way too salty. I couldn't figure it out. Then I looked at the fresh side package. Who knew they added salt to fresh side. I guess to preserve it? Anyway, lesson learned. Just sorry I can't add the Lawry's anymore.
