I made this for my husband who gets up at 3:30 every morning for work, so I figured this was a quick and easy breakfast for him. He said it was good, but I didn't try it because it looked unappealing. I have a big oval crockpot and I think that this small recipe was too shallow in my big pot and it might have dried out quite a bit. but none the less, he liked it.

Very good! I made this with steel cut oats and set a timer to turn it on after I had gone to bed so it would only cook for 6 hours. I didn't bother to melt the butter as it would melt in the cooking. As another reviewer suggested, I added a 1/2 cup of water. When it was done, my oatmeal was starting to get a light crust around the edges and it was very, very thick. I stirred in a cup of milk and and 1/2 cup of water to thin it a bit. Since I was making this for my Bible study group, I left out the fruit and nuts and offered them as toppings.

Hooray! I made this for about 1.5-2 servings (for ME!) I used a mixture of old fashioned oats, Irish oatmeal, steel cut oats, and oat bran. I used water in place of the milk, and stevia to sweeten. The apple was nummy and dried cranberries instead of raisins. Instead of cinnamon powder I broke a cinnamon stick in half. Skipped the butter and topped with almond milk. Oh! SO CREAMY and good. THANKS!

I made this for us to have this morning for Christmas breakfast. It turned out really good, everyone enjoyed it...even our picky 10 yr old ate 2 bowls! Only made a couple of small changes....instead of chopped apples & raisins, I added a 6 oz. package of Welch's Berry Medley dried fruit (which contained blueberries, cherries, cranberries, and golden raisins) and substituted pecans for the walnuts. I'm planning to make this again, maybe with other combinations of fruits/nuts!
