Cold Spicy Lemon and Orange Chicken

Ready In:




  • in a mixing bowl stir together yoghurt, orange and lemon juice, ginger, chillies, coriander,turneric, salt and creme fraiche.
  • in a saute pan heat the oil with the bay leaf, peppercorns and cardamon and cook for a couple of minutes.
  • pour in the yoghurt and creme fraiche mix and cook for a further minute.
  • Add cut up chicken and cook , stirring from time to time for 5 - 8 minutes until cooked.
  • stir in coriander leaf and tomatoes and cook for further 3 minutes until tomatoes have heated thru.
  • leave to cool.
  • serve with rice or crusty bread.

  1. I really enjoyed this recipe. You need to let it get cold for the flavors to meld. This has a little kick to it that we enjoyed. Followed your advice and served it with a salad and bread and rice. Made for ZWT5.
  2. This was really simple to make with lovely flavors. I added some orange zest and a few small chunks of orange to the dish. It would also be great with shrimp.


Hello, thought I should update this page a wee bit now we have a new furbaby called Bismila as well as our beloved Maddie who is the star of the photo. I live with my husband Keir in the North East of Scotland between Inverness and Aberdeen, it is very beautiful here. My DH is a keen salmon fisherman and is in the right place to do this! I ran my own pubs and restaurants for many years until arthritis made catering just too much for me, I am 'semi' retired now and can't seem to drag myself away from this site.
