Chocolate Strawberry Desserts

"Chocolate pudding layered with strawberry flavored whipped cream. YUM! Simple and easy for when you need a last minute dessert."

• Serves: 4

ingredients

• 2 cups cold milk
• 1 (4 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
• 1 (10 ounce) package frozen sweetened strawberries, thawed
• 1 cup whipping cream
• 1⁄4 cup confectioners' sugar
• sliced fresh strawberries (to garnish)

directions

1. Beat milk and pudding mix till thick and smooth and set aside.
2. Drain strawberries and place berries in a blender.
3. Cover and process until smooth.
4. In a mixing bowl, beat cream and sugar until stiff peaks form.
5. Gently fold in strawberry puree.
6. Divide half of the chocolate pudding among four dessert dishes.
7. Top with half the strawberry mixture.
8. Repeat layers and garnish with strawberry slices.

I thought this was just "pretty good" for all the calories involved. If I make it again, I'll try to find a more intensely-chocolate pudding. The strawberry cream portion was superb!

I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds great. I like the idea that laurie had w/the fat free ingredients instead. This will be a winner w/my family.

WOW...Marie these are so simple and so good! I must admit I cheated. I had 16 oz of unsweetened berries that I drained then pureed with the hand blender then folded into 1 1/2 cups of cool whip. I would of taken pics but the kids were in them as I was making them and my "fancy" clear dessert dishes are in storage and dont think the gladware did them justice..LOL I love chocolate/strawberry combo and so this will be made often. BTW I used sugar free pudding and 1% milk, unsweetenee berries and fat free cool whip so that should take a lot of calories out for everyone and there was no taste difference here! Thanx Marie for another winner!
