Cauliflower and Broccoli Salad With Poppy Seed Dressing

"A friend of mine made this salad for me on the weekend of our daughter's wedding, to help us out with meals. Thank you Debbie! Prep time does not include marinating time."

  1. Tried this recipe tonight for supper. I par-cooked the broccoli and cauliflower together in the microwave for 2 min. then plunged into an ice bath to stop the cooking process (simply because I prefer these veggies tender-crisp rather then raw). I also added some chopped baby bok choy greens because I had them in the fridge. Used a store bought lemon-poppy seed dressing and then chilled the salad for a couple of hours before serving. It was delicious and we both had seconds.

  2. Great picnic/Holiday salad to bring with you to a party. Love cauliflower & Broccoli together. I will use a little less sugar next time, but love the vinegar contrast and the yummy poppy seed! Added a yellow pepper. Very colorful. Thanks for the recipe!

  3. This was such a great colorful salad with such a delicious flavor. I didn't add the mushrooms because I couldn't find mine. I know I bought them but they weren't in my fridge. Another item left at the grocery store counter. I also used red peppers and orange peppers, don't care for the green ones. I was skeptical with all that sugar but it turned into a delicious salad. In the morning when plating it I just used a slotted spoon. Had it with some boiled eggs and some leftover cold cuts. Was a perfect lunch. Thanks for sharing Lori Mama. Made for Holiday Tag '09

  4. I was really happy to see a broccoli cauliflower salad without the added fat of bacon! This still had enough fat, but at least I felt better about it! I followed the recipe exactly, but left the celery out because I didn't have anymore room in my mixing bowl :)! Thanks for sharing a yummy recipe!

  5. DELICIOUS. I usually don't like fresh mushrooms in a salad but once they soak up the dressing YUM. I cut back on the recipe to use up partial heads of broc and cauliflower . What an awesome way to use them up.I skipped th green pepper we don't care for it. I did not drain the dressing. Made for Everyday is a Holiday tag KEEPER recipe
