directions

  • Cook pasta according to directions.
  • In a large nonstick skillet, saute onion and garlic in butter and oil until tender.
  • Add broccoli and salt; cook and stir over medium-high heat for 8 minutes.
  • Add shrimp; cook and stir 2-3 minutes longer or until shrimp turns pink and broccoli is tender.
  • Drain pasta; transfer to a serving bowl.
  • Add the broccoli mixture; toss gently.
  • Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

  1. Delicious! I have a 12-year-old and a 10-year-old, and they LOVED it. I added a can of petite diced tomatoes. Glad I did because I think it would have been very dry had I not. Next time I will double the shrimp.

  3. Very nice dish! I doubled the entire recipe, added some crushed red pepper flakes and added about 8 roma tomatoes. I also added the broccoli with the garlic and onion. Very light and tasty. I squeezed the juice of 1/2 a lemon over it YUM!
     
  4. Loved this!!!...I didn't have bow tie pasta, and used fettucine... otherwise made it the same as printed...definitely a keeper... thanks for sharing it.
     
  5. This was wonderful. I was concerned that the onions and garlic were browning too much while the broccoli was cooking - next time I'll start the broccoli before the onions and garlic are fully tender. To help the broccoli along I added a little water to the pan and covered to steam it a bit and it worked beautifully. I added a little lemon juice and a very little bit of hot sriracha sauce to my serving and really liked the additions. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!

  2. Awesome recipe! I used frozen cheese tortellini instead of bow tie pasta and frozen broccoli instead of fresh, but followed the recipe for the rest. The only suggestion I can think to give is make sure the shrimp are not only peeled and deveined, but also tail-off. This turned out great, thanks.

I am lucky enough to be "living the good life". I have the most wonderful husband and two terrific teenage daughters. We reside in Central Pennsylvania where we have the luck of having four full seasons. Between my husband and myself, we have two full time jobs, three businesses and one part time job. We are very busy, but try to take it easy when we can and enjoy the wonderful life we have been blessed with. Future plans include moving to an inherited 45 acre farm in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains. This will occur if and when our DD's leave the nest. We love to travel and have enjoyed seeing all of North America and a large portion of the United States together. Since discovering Zaar, I have to say my life has become more flavorful! I have learned that it's easier than I thought to have an organized, well-planned and yet creative and fun kitchen! I love the features of Zaar, but especially enjoy the people.
