A great recipe, and what makes it better is that it is so easy and direct. I used diced tomatoes from the can (drained) and it came out just perfect, used chicken broth (which I think is necessary), and I doubled the garlic. A great authentic dish, may want to add some Latin spices but it's just perfect just the way it is!

I've been making this recipe now for many years. I can't even say exactly how long. I've lived in my current house now for 11 years and I started making it in my former house. So it's been a while. This is our favorite go to rice recipe. When my girls come home it's the one they always ask for. I have done so much with this rice. I've added beans too it, i've added vegetables to it. I've just done so much. So after all these years I figured it was time to find it online again and give it a rating LOL

So quick and easy to make TLu. We loved this flavorful dish. My picky dh ate most of it himself. Made exactly as written, it couldn't have been any better. I used chicken broth instead of water. It was the perfect accompaniment for entre (pork tenderloin). Thanks so much for sharing, I will be making this delicious rice again. :)

<p>Cooking is my passion! I enjoy reading cookbooks; especially old church ones. I don't have a favorite published cookbook; our family has our own which we call the 'cooking bible.' We like to cook together and try new ethnic cuisines. I work as a business consultant. I never can understand people who don't enjoy cooking especially if they like eating. <br /> <br /><br /><img title=Photo src=http://www.pickle.com/plink/ph/795B07337A4704307B51032E7C5A0433785C1C512307476E143E5A652E076C307C5C0A357F5A0439140741682C4659712C.jpg border=0 alt=coolmonday-particiation2 /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /><br /> <br /><br /><br /> <br /><br /> <br /> </p>
