Blueberry Pie Shake

"What can I say -- This is something I used to make many, many years ago, then sort of grew out of it! Still it's an interesting shake! Works well with regular ice cream & with cherry pie filling, too! For a thinner shake, use an additional 1/2 cup of milk."

  1. I made a quarter portion for this morning's breakfast-on-the-run (that is I enjoyed this on my way to work in the car!). I the used frozen blueberries, and added some sunflower seeds, something I often add to shakes and smoothies; they add a little bit of crunch, even after blending. Totally scrumptious: a great start to the day. Thanks for sharing this recipe. Made for Zaar Stars Tag.

  2. This made a nice treat for my sons. I halved the recipe and they drank it all up! Thanks for sharing.

  3. I cut this recipe in half and used 1/2 cup 2% milk, 1 pint frozen yogurt, 2 tsp lemon juice, and 1/4 can of the pie filling (to cut down on the sweetness others have mentioned). I also added a handful of frozen blueberries to the mix to add some blueberry flavor since not using so much pie filling. It turned out really good but still a tad bit sweet. Thanks for sharing.

  4. This was quick and easy. It was very sweet, not sure how to cut back on how sweet it is, maybe less blueberry pie filling. Also, blueberry pie filling was over $4.00 can at our supermarket, so not sure this is a very economical beverage, but it was a nice treat.

  5. 4 Stars, a nice blueberry milkshake, not overly sweet for our taste, almost filled 6 highball glasses. Great for vacation dessert, took 45 minutes for leftover glass to thaw for easier eating, would recommend freezing in ball shape and mixing with balls of watermelon and cantaloupe, or perhaps balls of Recipe #58336 #58336 or Recipe #247746 #247746.
