- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon cumin seed
- 1⁄2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1 cup beet, grated
- 1 teaspoon sambal powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1⁄4 cup peas
- 1 cup rice, cooked
- 1 teaspoon salt
directions
- Melt butter in pan.
- Add cumin and mustard seeds.
- Add garlic and ginger; saute.
- Add beets.
- Cook on low until beets are tender; you may need to add a little water to prevent sticking.
- Add sambal powder, and garam masala powder.
- Stir in peas.
- Stir in rice; stir until rice is red.
