    lbs round steaks, cut into 1 inch cubes

    medium sliced onions
  • 1
    (10 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1
    (10 ounce) can French onion soup
  • 1
    (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 13
    cup flour
  • 1
    (12 ounce) can corn, drained
  • green pepper ring (optional)
  • Dumplings
  • 1

    cup milk
  • 2
    tablespoons salad oil
  • 14
    teaspoon sage (optional)
  • 1
    cup flour
  • 1 12
    teaspoons baking powder
  • 12
    teaspoon salt
  • 2
    tablespoons minced parsley (optional)

DIRECTIONS

  • Combine first 9 ingredients in a 3 quart casserole.
  • Cover and bake in 350 degree oven for 2 hours.
  • Take from oven and remove bay leaf.
  • If using pepper rings, place them in the center.
  • Reset oven to 400 degrees.
  • To make dumplings, combine egg, milk, oil, parsley and sage.
  • Add dry ingredients, stirring until moistened.
  • Drop dumplings by rounded teaspoonfuls.
  • Bake and additional 20 to 25 minutes.
