  • Cook the Brussels sprouts in boiling water to desired doneness; drain.
  • In a big skillet, melt the butter over med-high heat.
  • Add in apples and onions; cook, stirring until softened, about 4 minutes.
  • Add in Brussels sprouts, chestnuts, broth, salt, and pepper; cook, stirring, until most of the broth has evaporated, about 3 minutes.
  • Variation--may use apple juice instead of vegetable broth.
