Angel Hair Alfredo

"Very smooth and creamy, delicious sauce. I like to serve this with shrimp or scallops, but it also is very good alongside chicken."

  1. I really liked the taste of this, but I think I screwed it up,because it got too thick. Could be blamed on many factors, like a new pot for the fresh angel hair, and my 12 year-old daughter breathing down my neck while I was trying to throw this and other things together for our meal. It is very easy to make, and I too, love basil. I'll try again, when I have my alone time back. Thanks!

  2. Worth more than 5-stars. I had no idea I could make such a great tasting alfredo sauce. The basil flavor is a definite plus. We had this without any added seafood or chicken but that would be a fine addition. We thoroughly enjoyed just the pasta and sauce. Thanks Inez :-)

  3. Made this today for dinner. Added chunks of cooked chicken and small pieces of steamed broccoli. Would be good with whole wheat pasta as well.

  4. I agree with the other reviewers... this was a little bit too thick. It also lacks flavor... needs something to give it a little kick. The basil was nice, but it just wasn't enough.

  5. I used this sauce to top my stuffed shells with zucchini and spinach by Country Lady. The only change was that I used a about 2 ounces of cream cheese but my sauce was really thick. I liked the way of sauteeing the garlic in the oil first. It intensified the garlic flavor. Next time I'll make it with the shrimp and angel hair. Roxygirl

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
