  1. Boil kielbasa for 20 minutes; slice kielbasa and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, add whiskey, ketchup, and brown sugar; bring to a boil over low heat; cook until well combined.

I used the same ingredients except I used fully cooked kielbasa and southern comfort since I didn't have regular whiskey. I also sauted onions in oil until soft, add sauerkraut, chopped peeled green apple, apple juice, then added kielbasa , brown sugar mixture. Works well in crock pot or on stove. The Southern Comfort did make it much sweeter but the sauerkraut help to bring it down a notch.

Five stars with modifications: I didn't have time for crockpot but I liked the sauce ingredients. I adjusted down for 1 lb of Kielbasa, which I sliced into rounds. I combined the sauce ingredients in a large skillet and added the sliced kielbasa; brought sauce to a boil and then simmered until the sauce was reduced and the kielbasa was nicely glazed. I added some vinegar to counteract the sweetness. Daughters gave the thumbs up!

This had a very good flavor and both my DH and I like it alot, I too only had a pound but all came out well, next time i will adjust the amounts downward to suit 1 pd of kielbasa.
