Warm Orange Spice Drink for Cold & Flu

"I created this drink when I felt a bad cold coming on, and wanted a tasty way to keep it at bay. Oranges provide vitamin C, honey soothes sore throats, cinnamon helps relive nausea, clove quells coughs, and ginger root aids in clearing the sinuses. Also a delicious, warming beverage for those chilly winter days."

  1. This recipe couldn't have come at a better time for me. I have been fighting off a cold for a few days now and I can tell that this is definitely going to help me fight it off. I love the tangy flavor combination! Thank you for the great recipe! [Made & Reviewed for PAC Spring '09]

  2. Beautiful to kill a cold and delicious even if you do not have one. I did find it a few tads too sweet but I used the greater amount of creamed honey as that is what I had on hand. I used spring water, fresh grated gingerroot which is lovely in here, plus the rest of the ingredients. I will make this often but will try it with the least amount of honey next time and insha Allah (God willing) use raw when I get some.

I'm a 17 year old vegan who loves my body and loves to cook, so, naturally, I love tasty organic, meat-free uber healthy dishes. I'm not sure what else to say, so I'll just go with the little ideas they put next to the "about me" box: I live in a little town called Stillwater, near the Twin Cities in Minnesota. It is said to be the birthplace of the state. Work.... well, I have no official job yet, but I am currently pursuing a music career in alternative/folk rock. I play guitar and write my own songs and sing and stuff. For fun I like to cook and sing and climb trees and go hiking and read and listen to music. I am very passionate about the enviroment, nutrition, philosophy and spirituality, and my music. Pet peeves.... spit, feet on the table, leftover ketchup smell, and..... that's about it. Now you now all about me! Exept that my name is Alex. So, Hi, I'm Alex, nice to meet you!
