directions

  • You will need 2 bowls; one large microwave safe and one medium plastic. Also, you will need a wooden or silicon spatula.
  • In the large bowl mix 2 cups flour, salt, and tartar; set aside.
  • In the medium bowl pour in the boiled water and steep tea bags for 5 min's. Next, remove tea bags and add vanilla and oil, stir together gently.
  • Combine the tea mix into the flour mixture in thirds, stirring after each addition. *The dough should be almost the consistency of cake batter*
  • Place bowl in microwave and cook on High for six, 45 second intervals stirring after each interval or until dough is partially cooked. **CAREFUL IT'S HOT**.
  • Add in last 2 cups of flour 1/2 cup at a time (as you may not need all of the flour) Stir until dough is stiff but soft. Carefully knead dough(*careful it's still hot) with hands until flour is incorporated. Let dough cool on counter top for about 3 min's.
  • To Test Readiness: Take palm full of dough and knead it in you hands for 30 seconds. Then, flatten it on the counter top -- if it leaves dough behind, add a bit more flour, if it comes off the counter clean it's ready!
  • Seal in an air tight container.

Why "SoupCookie"? My cousin Ryan use to come to my house after school sometimes and was *always* hungry! So he used to make his version of chocolate chip cookies and I can't remember what he did or didn't do right but the cookies never failed to come out flat and doughy and gooey. We'd put them in a bowl with milk and eat it with a spoon.....sooooo good! To this very day his recipe has not been deciphered ;) <img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/Permanent%20Collection/PACSpring09Iwasadopted.jpg">
