Save slivers of soap to use in this easy liquid soap recipe.
- Pour boiling water over the soap and stir until soap is completely dissolved.
- Cool completely.
- Pour into a pump-type dispenser or a squeeze-top plastic container, and use in place of commercial liquid hand soaps.
This was so easy to do! A wonderful way to use up little pieces of soap. Thank you!
I took about a half a bar of glycerin soap and "grated" it with a vegetable peeler and then added the boiling water. This was so easy! I will save all my other soap slivers from now on and make this forever. Thank you for saving me money!
I used some glycerin soap, and I followed the recipe as indicated. When I thought it was the right consistency, I put it into pumps. However, the soap kept hardening to the point that it wouldn't come out of the pump, so I had to add more water. I ended up using about twice as much water as the recipe called for. The soap came out all foamy, instead of the gel that I'm used to, but I like it. I added some bright green food coloring, and I'm going to give some to my cousins (ages 3-12). I'm guessing it will be a big hit for kids.
