- 2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 cup shortening (if you don't have shortening margarine or butter will work)
- 1 cup milk

- 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
directions
- Preheat oven to 450,.
- Sift dry ingredients into bowl, cut in shortening (or substitute) until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Make a well; add milk all at once and stir quickly with fork just until dough follows fork around bowl and all ingredients are combined.
- Grease baking sheet, drop dough by rounded tablespoons or teaspoons onto baking sheet.
- Optional: Sprinkle tops of biscuits with parmesan and garlic powder or garlic salt before baking.
- Bake 12-15 minutes.
