makes enough frosting for a 2 layer cake
- Blend butter and brown sugar in saucepan.
- Bring to a boil.
- Boil 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Add milk.
- Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; cool to lukewarm.
- Add powdered sugar gradually, beating constantly until of spreading consistency.
I used this frosting for a 9x13 white cake. Very good! I think it would be delicious with apple or pumpkin cake! I'll try that next time...thanks!

When I was 17 years old, (and that was a long, long, time ago) I stayed overnight with my girl friend quite frequently, and her brother made a cake and put this frosting on it. I had never had it before, and it was so delicious. I am glad to see it posted. Can't wait to bring back memories of by gone days, and have something wonderful to eat at the same time.
