  1. This sauce is super easy to whip up. We really liked it over our peanut butter ice cream.

  2. People, please. This recipe neither looks nor tastes anything like the peanut butter topping at Friendly's. If you go to Friendly's and buy a pint, you will agree. That's what I did. The real Friendly's topping looks and tastes EXACTLY like natural peanut butter except it's thinner so it can be poured. It contains NO DAIRY. It truly just tastes like peanut butter, nothing more - it does NOT taste like a sweet dairy confection. None of the commercial peanut-butter toppings contain dairy or an abundance of sweetener. Wanna make a real copycat? Stir just enough peanut oil into your favorite peanut butter to get it to the right thickness for pouring over ice cream. Then add salt and a little sugar (or corn syrup) to taste. Done. The only difference is that the Friendly's topping has a gritty texture that I'm not sure how to duplicate. Maybe they add finely ground peanuts or peanut powder.
