- 2 eggs
- 1 1⁄2 cups buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3⁄4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1⁄2 cups cornmeal
- 3 tablespoons lard, melted
- 1 cup flour
- Preheat oven to 400F and grease a 11" x 7" baking pan.
- Beat eggs, milk, and lard together.
- Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
- Pour into prepared pan and bake about 30 minutes or until bread tests done.
