- 236.59 ml honey
- 1 egg
- 14.79 ml lemon juice
- 177.44 ml brown sugar, packed
- 4.92 ml lemon, rind of, grated
- 650.62 ml flour
- 7.39 ml baking soda
- 4.92 ml nutmeg
- 1.23 ml clove
- 4.92 ml cinnamon
- 2.46 ml allspice
- 1.23 ml clove
- 78.78 ml citron, cut
- 78.78 ml nuts, chopped
- 0 to taste candied cherry, cut in slices
- 0 to taste blanched almond

Glaze:
- 236.59 ml powdered sugar, sifted
- 73.94 ml rum or 73.94 ml water
directions
- Heat honey to boiling in sauce pan.
- Cool.
- Stir in sugar, egg, lemon juice and rind.
- Stir together flour, soda, and spices.
- Mix into honey mixture. Stir in citron and nuts.
- Chi ll in plastic wrap overnite. Heat oven to 350 deg.
- Shape into 1 inch balls and flatten.
- Place on greased baking sheet. Press almond halves into cookes and cherry slice into center.
- Bake just until set 10-12 minutes.
- Glaze while warm.
- Glaze: stir ingredients until smooth.
- Store in air tight container and let mellow.
