Momma's Shortbread

"This is the best, but don't tell my grandma! She and my mom compete about who has the best shortbread--my vote goes to my mom. I love this stuff, it's so dense yet it melts in your mouth at the same time. It brings me back to my childhood."

  1. Another 5 star! I guess your momma & granny are gonna have to duke it out a little longer cause I can't decide which one's better! We made both recipes today to compare. This was DH's favorite of the two. I liked that it made a little thicker cookie & a larger quantity. I used my KA mixer to whip up the dough & it was ready in a flash (even with my 3 yr old helping measure the flour! ;)). The only thing I would note is that this recipe was baked (slightly over-baked actually) in 37 minutes. Thank you, Kelly, for sharing your family's recipes with us. We really enjoyed our shortbread making day! :) Made for Fall 2009 Pick A Chef. You were adopted! :) http://www.recipezaar.com/bb/viewtopic.zsp?t=310505
