I was looking for a Sage Brown Butter sauce with a little more flavor and this one really hit the spot! I was a bit hesitant about the maple syrup, but I followed the recipe exactly and the whole family loved it, including the super picky 7 year old! Thanks so much : )

  1. Melt the butter in a large saute pan over medium heat. When the butter has melted add the sage leaves.
  2. Continue to cook, swirling the butter occasionally, until the foam subsides and the milk solids begin to brown.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the cinnamon, maple syrup, salt, and pepper. Careful, the mixture will bubble up. Gently stir the mixture.
  4. When the bubbles subside, the sauce is done.
