L's Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

"My own cookie recipe, based on a few I'd tried before. Keep in mind, bread flour is different from all-purpose flour and is a MUST for this recipe. So don't substitute all-purpose flour for bread flour."

  • Take at least one cup of your flour, and thoroughly mix it in a small bowl with 1-2 tablespoons of water, using a fork or whisk. Then let it stand for a few minutes. This allows the glutens to strengthen and will keep the cookies from crumbling after you finally bake them.
  • Mix all of your dry ingredients in a large bowl after letting the wetted cup of flour set (mix it in as well). Add in the the remaining ingredients and mix well. Then cover and chill for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°. On an ungreased baking sheet, place dough by rounded teaspoons, 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for about 9 minutes until the edges are browned. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.
