- 177.44 ml honey
- 177.44 ml unsulphured molasses
- 59.14 ml margarine
- 1 large egg
- 946.36 ml flour
- 4.92 ml salt
- 4.92 ml baking soda
- 4.92 ml baking powder
- 4.92 ml nutmeg
- 4.92 ml allspice
- 3.69 ml ground cardamom
- 2.46 ml ground black pepper
- 1.23 ml ground aniseed
directions
- Combine honey, molasses and margarine in a large pan and warm together over low heat. Allow to cool and add in one egg (slightly beaten).
- Sift dry ingredients together. Add the molasses mixture slowly, then cool dough for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Take 1/4 of the dough at a time and roll into 3/4 inch wide logrolls and cut into small cylinders, then roll these pieces into 3/4 inch balls.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 13-15 minutes.
