  1. This is a great recipe especially adding the lavender for the calming effects. Although you must be carefull with the amount of lavender used because if too much is used then it can have the oposite effect! and can be awakening...thankyou the aromatherapist

  2. Lavender has calming properties, so this scrub is great to use right before you go to bed at night... I used about 15 drops of a Bulgarian lavender EO... smells very mellow and not as "sharp" as some of the other lavenders out there... I used aabout 1/4 c of sweet almond oil to the 1 c of epsom salt... made it just the right consistency for me. I sometimes make this without the dried lavender, since I have to use a strainer in the shower to catch all the flowers and buds that may end up clogging the drain... but it really looks pretty in a clear jar for presentation as gifts! Thanks for posting a fragrant and less costly version of commercial scrubs!

  3. Luxuriant! I usually understand how epsom salts and carrier oils and essential oils work well together, but I'm usually guessing or second-guessing the ratios. This was a nice way to figure out those ratios. Due to lack of ingredients I used 1/2 cup epsom salt, 1/4 cup store brand baby oil with vitamin E and aloe vera, 1/4 cup of olive oil, and drop or so of Sally Hansen's Vitamin E Cuticle Oil, and I probably only had 4 drops worth of Lavender essential oil. I did not have lavender flowers at all. :( I love lavender, it is such a mellow scent, soothing, and calming. I know baby oil isn't always going to have the best oil properties that almond or grapeseed or olive oil does, but it works decently. I'm almost out of olive oil so that's why I didn't use much. I am on a very tight budget, and though this recipe is definitely cheaper than the store-bought salt scrubs, it's still hefty on my budget at the moment. But I enjoyed a nice warm bath and this scrub felt so good I really didn't want to stop exfoliating! My skin is silky and has a very fine layer of oil left because I didn't rinsc eoff after the bath. This really made me feel special and beautiful, a precious commodity these days being so busy all the time. Thank you JustaQT, I hope I can make this again! :)

  4. I was short on ingredients so I used Epson Salt, Olive Oil, and dry lavender. It still turned out great and smells wonderful while in use.

  5. This is divine!!! I am just so dead tired tonight and with a long day ahead tomorrow, I just had to relax and not ignore my painful feet and hands today. So I did make this and now I feel so good, not to mention, smell so nice and fresh and really really good! I will be using this whenever I get a chance to relax now on. Thanks so much for posting this!
