These pancakes taste just like the IHOP cream of wheat pancakes. Recipe is from "Top Secret Restaurant Recipes" cookbook.

I'm sorry, these just didn't work out great for me. I halved the recipe and made as directed except that I added 1/4 tsp vanilla and 1/4 tsp cinnamon- as others had described it as lacking flavor. When I went to pour that pancakes they spread WAY out and ended up really thin and dense. I added 1/8 tsp baking powder but would recommend 1/4 tsp for a half recipe and 1/2 tsp for a whole recipe. This helped a little, but they were still kind of eggy and dense for my taste. I think the idea behind the recipe is good, but it still needs a little more tinkering!

I loved the cream of wheat in these, but otherwise the flavor was somewhat lacking. And that after I added a pinch of salt, 1/2 t vanilla, 1/2 T malt powder and 1/2 T sugar. Next time I make them I plan to substitute melted butter for the oil.
