How I Got My Son to Eat Green Beans

"Every once in a while you run across a young one who will not eat anything green - imagine that. When you're a Mom who loves vegetables and cares about the health of your child this can be soooo frustrating. This was one of my early successes at getting my DS to eat green beans. It's based on two premises that worked for me: 1) I called it hors d'ouevers and let him eat them at the table as I was putting the finishing touches on dinner. 2) I let him eat this with his fingers. Don't know why but finger foods seem more attractive to kids. P.S. DS has grown to love all kinds of vegies now!"

  1. We do this with Italian dressing but I usually sprinkle it on the whole and gently toss. I have added Parmesan cheese on top too.

My husband, Paul, and I enjoy travel, good food and spending time with family. We have six fun, busy kids (blended family). I adore greyhounds but don't currently have one. They are sweet, calm dogs. I can highly recommend adopting a retired racer. Update - We did recently adopt a Staffordshire/Shepard mix from a rescue group. He's lovable and sweet, though needs to be much more active than our old greys did. I have lived in California, Pennsylvania, New York, Oregon, Colorado, North Carolina, Austria (you know, The Sound of Music) and Germany (ahh Bavaria!)
