  • Place the eggs is a pot just large enough to hold the eggs, fill with water until the eggs are covered.
  • Heat the eggs on high, covered, until boiling.
  • Remove from heat, leave covered, for 20 minutes.
  • Place the eggs is a bowl of ice water for a few minutes to cool.

  1. I'm so happy to see this. Since moving to CO I've been struggling with cooking. Now if I could just figure out how to bake cookies that are cooked all the way through
     
  2. Adjusted time to 17 minutes for my altitude of 4,500 feet in the Grand Valley of Western CO. Usually add or subtract 2-3 minutes on your eggs per 1,000 feet elevation difference, so I would say this checks out.
     
  3. Fail. I live at 7,100' and the eggs were not done per your instructions. Readers beware.
     
  4. I live at 8500 feet and it takes longer than 20 minutes for a good hard boiled egg here. I would love to see a chart that shows how much to increase the time for every 1000 feet of elevation above sea level.
