Hg's Watermelon Frojito - Ww Pts 3

"Can't wait to try it this summer! From Hungry Girl: "Mojito recipes usually call for a fancy bartending tool called a muddler. Don't have one? Neither do we. Try using one of the beaters from an electric hand mixer.""

  • Place mint leaves, half the lime wedges and the sweetener in a tall glass.
  • Squeeze the juice from the remaining lime wedges into the glass and throw them away.
  • Crush and "muddle" the mixture until the juice has been released from the lime wedges, the mint leaves are thoroughly bruised, and the sweetener has dissolved. Set aside.
  • Place the watermelon, rum and ice into a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Pour into the glass with lime-mint mixture and stir well.
  • Drink up and be refreshed!

  1. This is fantastic! It tastes so fresh. I love mojitos, and this really adds a great new twist. I didn't have any artificial sweetener, so I added a tiny bit of regular sugar (maybe 1/4 tsp) and it came out perfect. The watermelon is very sweet itself. Thanks for the recipe!

Although a stone's throw away from the Golden Dome at Notre Dame, I went to Michigan State and am a true, die hard Spartan. Dubbed by my husband as a "messie chef", I love to cook and try new recipes out on my family. I also have quite a cookbook collection and practically read them like novels. What can I say, I love food and appreciate all kinds. I love to sample regional favorites on various trips. I'm also a mom of 2 wonderful girls...5 and 2 years old. I love the Rachael Ray and OAMC concepts so I'm able to spend more time with my family. <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b161/tisht/freezer.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s19.photobucket.com/albums/b161/tisht/?action=view¤t=tish1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b161/tisht/tish1.jpg" border="0" alt="Recipezaar Challenge 2008"></a>
