1. If you like this combination of flavors this is your recipe. I loved it but I like ham and pinapple pizza too! I could of eaten the whole pan. Thank me for being the "brave one" and thank Karen for posting!

 2. Very good. Great for when you want something different for mac and cheese. I cooked the green pepper and onion with the ham for a little bit before adding them to the macaroni.

 3. Sounds like simplicity and joy! Can't wait for my shopper to get me the (Cheez Whiz). I can't have the green pepper or onion but even still (allergies). The ham? Great place to use some of that sliced ham that was on sale and think of the fun style macaroni that's available (how about wheels). Try this one. You'll love it, brings back memories of the kids when they were little.

 4. This was good and I would make it again. I took it to a potluck and got a lot of complements on it. The only differences were that I had double the macaroni & double the Mexican dip & half the onions. update: I made a modified version of this recipe recently. Box of Macaroni&Cheese, a can of pineapple, couple scoops of salsa, & a bunch of leftover ham. It was pretty good!

 5. Very tasty! I give it 5 stars, my husband 4.5 (that's way higher than normal) and my two daughters give it a 3... they ate their first servings but didn't ask for seconds. I did make a few changes based on what I had in my pantry. I used two boxes of mac-n-cheese (similar to kraft). It was the powdered cheese kind, so when I prepared the sauce I added two tbs of milk and two tbs shredded cheddar to make the sauce a little creamier for the extra ingredients. I also used 2c of ham (and there was plenty). My family loves hawaiin pizza- so I added 2/3 of a 20oz can of pineapple tidbits. (My family agreed that it wouldn't hurt to add the entire can. -Keep in mind that we really like pineapple- If your family doesn't, that much would be overkill.) I needed something quick and easy and I definitely would not have come up with this on my own. Thanks for posting!:)

Tweaks

 1. To make this even more Hawaiian You can use Spam, cubed and fried until browned. When we were in Hawaii, Spam was used liberally in many homestyle diners. It has kind of bad reputation here, but it's not so bad. Velveeta is worse in my opinion.

 2. Very good! I used a large box of macaroni & cheese (the type with soft, not powdered, cheese sauce) instead of the macaroni plus Cheez Whiz. I'd recommend using pineapple bits instead of the crushed pineapple; it disappears in the cheese sauce and you can't see it! You can taste it though. Yum!

I live in Pa (outside of Philadelphia) and cooking, baking, cross-stitching and reading are my hobbies.

I collect cookbooks and cookie stamps/cutters and have a pretty big collection of both. I am also a fan of all things Amish, so I have quite a collection of things picked up in Reading, Lancaster and surrounding areas here in Pennsylvania.

I have 4 kids, who are the loves of my life and cooking for them and my husband keeps me on my toes! ;)

We bought an ice cream parlor in March 04 and it's been quite an experience!

Note: I love getting feedback on my recipes; all I ask is that you actually *make* them before reviewing them.

Also, if you make changes or substitutions, I'd love to see your suggestions and/or comments, but I'd appreciate no rating at all if it's not made as posted. Too many recipe reviews state margarine subbed for butter (if I list butter, it's REAL butter), different spices, low-fat ingredients, whole wheat flour instead of white, etc. The recipes will not work/taste as intended, so it's really not fair to rate them as such.

I'd also really appreciate it if you refrain from rating a recipe if you overcook or overbake it or it you don't refrigerate or store as listed.

I, of course, will adhere to the above when rating recipes, too!

Thanks and have a great day!

My Rating System:

***** A delicious recipe that was thoroughly enjoyed. It has excellent, detailed directions and is perfect as is. If a dish is especially easy, and I'm on the fence, I will give it 5* for ease even if it's very good instead of great. Something I will definitely make again.

**** Excellent recipe but confusing directions that I will make again in my own less confusing way OR Very good recipe that I'll probably make again if I find the time!

*** Good/OK recipe but probably not something I would make again OR Very Good recipe that doesn't have clear, detailed directions.

** Recipe was edible but not really enjoyed and will not be made again. Work involved not a good trade-off for the end result.

* Not edible and probably an error in the recipe. I feel that I pick recipes with ingredients our family likes, so in my opinion, there's an error somewhere. If there's a chance I made the error, I won't rate the recipe. ;)
