This is from TOH magazine. I haven’t made these yet, but I am typing it up for ZWT II.
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 6 1⁄4 ounces chocolate candy bars, broken into rectangles
- 1⁄2 cup chopped walnuts
- In a mixing bowl, cream butter and brown sugar. Add egg yolk and vanilla; mix well. Combine flour and salt. Add to creamed mixture.
- Press into a 15 by 10 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
- Immediately place candy bar pieces over crust. Let stand for 1 minute, or until softened; spread evenly. Sprinkle with walnuts. Cool and cut into squares.
