Frosted Peanut Butter Bars With Chocolate Drizzle

This recipe comes from my good friend Beth, in Kanasas City. I have not made them yet, but she is a wonderful cook and says these bars are delicious!

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream peanut butter, shortening and brown sugar.
  2. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  3. Combine the flour and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture.
  4. Add milk; mix well.
  5. Transfer to a greased 15 x 10 x 1 baking pan.
  6. Bake at 350 for 16-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. (I always bake it for 16 minutes.)
  7. Cool.
  8. For frosting, in a mixing bowl, cream peanut butter, shortening and confectioners’ sugar.
  9. Gradually beat in enough milk to achieve spreading consistency.
  10. Frost bars.
  11. Melt chocolate chips and shortening; stir until smooth.
  12. Drizzle over frosting.
  13. Refrigerate.

These are a peanut butter lover's delight, I topped them only with the frosting and omitted the topping, actually the bars are great without any frosting or topping, I sent them hope with my DS to enjoy, thanks for sharing hon!...Kitten:)
