My Great Grandmother's beef and rice dutch oven dish. So simple but very hearty and comforting!
- 2 lbs beef stew meat
- 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
- 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
- 3 cups water
- 1 1⁄2 cups uncooked rice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Brown stew meat in a large dutch oven.
- Add remaining ingredients to dutch oven and bake at 300 degrees F for 3 hours, covered.
Talk about easy! I love this recipe, but I must admit that I do add a little chopped onion to the meat while it is browning and I add a little beef broth instead of all water. This is really comforting and easy. Thanks for this one!
