ingredients
- 2 lbs hamburger
- 4 ounces hot sausage, without casing
- 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 cup romano cheese
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 cups breadcrumbs
- 1⁄4 cup parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon pepper
- 2 eggs
- 1⁄4 loaf Italian bread, cubed
- 1⁄2 cup parmesan cheese
directions
- To start soak the bread in milk or water enough to cover it.
- Mix the hamburger, parsley, Italian seasoning, pepper, salt, hot sausage, cheeses, eggs and garlic (all ingredients except bread and bread crumbs).
- Squeeze out the water or milk and add to the other ingredients.
- Then add the bread crumbs,1 cup at a time until mixture holds its shape.
- Form into balls and put into a preheated 400 oven for about 20 to 25 minutes.

I love both to cook and bake, November and December are the best times in my kitchen. I was raised in a household with 4 generations, so it was customary for the women to spend endless hours cooking and baking. My great grandmother taught me how to bake using a wood burning stove. That is how we made all of our meals until I was about 14 years old. I am truly blessed with a wonderful family both here and beyond.
