A way to come up with an instant dessert. Use your favorite canned fruit.
- 15 ounces canned peaches
- 8 slices bread
- 1 cup whipped cream
- Drain and mash peaches.
- Butter both sides of the bread slices.
- Fill fruit between buttered slices of bread.
- Fry slowly to heat through.
- Top with whipped cream. Serve hot.
Making this as easily as I could, I used thin slices of a winter wheat bread & Cool Whip, then sprinkled some left-over toasted slivered almonds on top! A very nice, unusual dessert snack for us, & one I'll makd again! [Tagged, made & reviewed for one of my adoptees in the current Pick-A-Chef]
