Cheap Dark Fruitcake

1 dark fruitcake
ingredients
- 473.18 ml brown sugar
- 118.29 ml shortening
- 473.18 ml water
- 453.59 g sticky raisins (not seeded)
- 709.77 ml flour
- 9.85 ml baking soda
- 4.92 ml salt
- 4.92 ml nutmeg
- 4.92 ml cinnamon
- 2.46 ml clove
directions
- Mix together 2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup shortening, 2 cups water and 1 lb. sticky raisins. Boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. Add to raisin mixture.
- Bake for 1 hour in 325F oven.
- You can also add cherries (red and green), mixed peel, nutmeats, and currants as well to this recipe.

<br>I guess the dish that I am famous for is my Christmas ham - my family all comes home for Christmas, and if i don't have my ham they are dissapointed, and my grandson wants the pistachio squares!!! so I guess that is the dishes that I'm famous for.
