Carolyn's Gorp

"It is my understanding that GORP stands for Good Old Raisins & Peanuts....this is my take on it. It's a favorite around my house but watch out because the combination of sweet and salty can be very addictive."

 1. This was great! I made up a batch of this for our family vacation. It was so great to have for the long car ride. I carried plastic cups along and passed out servings to my kids whenever they shouted that they were hungry! So easy and yummy!

 2. We always make this for road trips. It is so filling and it satisfies any cravings we might have so we can avoid Gas station snacking (you know, grabbing chocolate bars, bags of chips, etc.) I have never used sunflower seeds before, but that might be a really nice addition. For ease of measuring, I always get a can of planter's salted peanuts, a box of raisins (not the small individual boxes, but one size up) and the big bag of M&M's. The longer it sits the better it tastes.

 3. I simply love this! Sunflower seeds are my latest addicition(ever since I had them for the first time in Pizza Hut here in FL, USA). Peanuts have been my all-time favourite nuts and chocolate is what the 'C' in my name stands for. When I saw this recipe, I simply put it together and voila! It is ADDICTIVE! I will have to go make some more because my dad is enjoying this just as much as I am:-) Thank you for sharing such a fun and easy to fix goodie!

 5. DH loved this! I used M&M's with peanuts because they are his favorite and dried cherries. So good and easy to put together! A great snack and I will be making it again and again! Thanks Mg for posting!

I am one of the early members of Zaar joining in October 2001. It was instantly my favorite site even though there were only about 5000 recipes. Back then the original owners Troy and Gay ran the site and they had a lot of interaction with the members. I miss them.

Through the years it still remains to this day my favorite go to site and the one that I send all of my friends and family to when they need anything.
8724616"
