I don't always have capers in the house.
- 1 tablespoon capers
- 1 tablespoon dill pickle, chopped
- 1 tablespoon green olive, chopped
- You can you one or the other or mix them.
I think the olives are a bit closer in flavor to capers than the pickles are. Not exactly the same taste, of course, but a good way to add the feel and brininess of capers when you don't have any around. Thanks for posting!
Thank you so much for posting this....I usually skip recipes with capers because I know I wouldn't use them up before they expired. I am so excited to know I can use these substitutions, especially the green olives...love them! Thanks again!
