This came from my mom's cookbook. One of my favorite salads to eat in the summer, our extended family who doesn't love vegetables gobbles this right up.

  1. In a large bowl use a whisk to combine mayo, sugar, vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add vegetables and miss thoroughly.
  3. You can substitute regular raisins for golden raisins, but the golden color is a nice contrast to the Craisins.

This is a Midwest favorite, but I've never made it with cabbage! It gets rave reviews everywhere I've ever taken it!

When I made this the first time, I used regular mayo and bacon. But my daughter prefers healthier ingredients, so I loved the change to low-fat mayo and turkey bacon. It's a big hit with my daughter and her college roommates, and it would be great for a family reunion or pot-luck.
