  • Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Open both cans of yams and pour out about 1/2 juice from each can.
  • Pour 1 1/4 cup brown sugar over yams.
  • Mix 2 tablespoons flour with hot water until melted. Typically makes 1/4-1/2 cup liquid. Pour over yams.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of Vanilla flavoring to the yams.
  • Spread 4 tablespoons margarine over yams evenly.
  • Bake yams uncovered for approximately 30-45 minutes. If syrup mixture is not thick enough, continue to bake until desired consistency.
