I cut them into wedges, (steak fries), tossed them in oil, and baked them at 450F for about 30 minutes. They were wonderful! I would have left them in longer, since I like them crispy, but hubby doesn't and I enjoy any taters if I can drench them in ketchup! Just a healthier way for our life style, and thanks Diva Spoonie Sharon! YUM!

  • 2 large potatoes, peeled
  • 14 teaspoon salt

  1. Cut the potatoes lengthwise into thin strips, about 1/3-inch in width. Soak the potatoes in ice-cold water for 1 hour, drain, and pat completely dry.
  2. Heat the oil in a deep skillet(or deep fryer) to 325F and fry the potatoes, in batches, for 5 minutes, until they turn golden brown.
  3. Drain the frites on fresh paper towels and salt them.
  4. Makes 2 large or 3 medium servings.
