I got this off of Paula's Home Cooking on the Food Network. I haven't tried it, but it's easy and looks delicious.
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Wrap breadsticks in bacon.
- Place on cookie sheet and bake for 30 minutes.
- Dredge through parmesan while hot.
- Allow to cool and crisp, then serve.
I've been making these for ages. Only thing I do differntly, I put a rack on the cookie sheet and bake breadsticks on the rack. It cuts down on the grease and allows the underside to cook more.
This is a great appetizer! I don't know about you but if I just read this recipe, I may not have made it. But this was served at a club meeting I went too and it was all the rage! I have made it several times since, it always gets the compliments followed by requests for the recipe. The instructions I got were the same except, I was told to cook it at 250 for an hour(?), it works. But it is a little faster cooking with this recipe. A hint just in case you run into this: I actually had a hard time finding breadsticks at my local grocery stores, even the employees could not find them, but finally in the pasta/Italian section we found the breadsticks!
I have made these before and they are WONDERFUL!!! I am so glad I found the recipe again. Thank you for posting this GREAT recipe!!
